The Internet has a strong impact on modern society and our life. Having a personal website is pretty much a must have nowadays. A lot of people of different professions have their own websites and teachers as well.

To have a personal website for a teacher is a great opportunity to share the knowledge and experience, some original ideas with other teachers. It’s a common situation, when you want to make your lesson better, more interesting and effective, you surf the Net in searching useful information and, though there are a lot of different educational resources, there are a lot of talented, creative and skillful teachers who can give you this or that information, advice.  Also, a teacher can make pages for students, where they can find useful information and even tasks such as web-quests. 

Also to have a personal website for a teacher is a great responsibility, because he or she should think carefully about the content posting on it. A website can help leave a positive first impression if it’s designed well and your content is professional. To fill your site with interesting and useful information, to design it well requires a lot of time and special knowledge from a teacher, and if a teacher can get the necessary knowledge, the problem can be with a lack of time. 

In spite of possible difficulties, I think a modern teacher should have his or her personal website because it can benefit for teacher himself, for colleagues and for students. 

Nowadays people use the Internet more and more. It is a fact that using it makes our life easier because you can find all necessary information being at home. The emergence of the opportunity to create teacher`s site causes a variety of opinions. People argue about the advantages and disadvantages of having teacher`s site. Some are for, others are against it. 

Speaking about the advantages  of having a site it should be mentioned that having teacher`s site  helps to collect all metodical literature you need for the lessons you will not have to keep it at home or at school. Moreover, you can use the information from your site at the lessons. What is more, you can share experiences with other teachers who can evaluate your work. You can connect with your students and their parents, using your site. They can find there recommedations for learning English, tasks and information about the language competitions.

Some people consider that there are also disadvantages of having personal teacher`s site. It is a fact that in order to have his or her own site a person should know the computer very well and be very competitent  in using the Internet. Not every teacher can do it. There are even teachers who have sites only because the administration of their school makes them to do it. Moreover, sometimes teachers make and complete their sites not by themselves!

Personaly I think that nowadays every teacher must have his or her own site. To my mind modern teacher can`t be without site because not having personal site, a teacher misses a variety of opportunities. I want to have my own site and I think I can do it!

Our modern life needs having your personal site or blog in the Internet. If you are a teacher having a site is the necessity in modern system of education. Our education demands the using of different multimedia technologies, electronic dictionaries and Internet. I believe that there are advantages and disadvantages of having your personal website.

People who have website could share interesting information with other people. Some people need sites for their business – to advertise and sell some products. Some of them have Internet shops. It’s very comfortable to have a web page, where you can introduce your goods and there is no much rent for placement.

Nowadays most teachers have their own web sites. They upload different educational information there and their students can do tasks distantly, which cut the time.

Some people are against web sites, because of wasting their time. They suppose that this is hairy and unhealthful to spend much time playing the computer games or working on it. I can guess such people do not know computer technologies and it’s very difficult for them to work with it.

What for me, I would like to have my personal site, to upload different information, different tasks for my students. I know a bit about multimedia technologies and like to learn about it. I don’t have much time to draw pictures with hand or write some exercises on the paper. For me it’s comfortable to tape and to send a e-mail for my students. So, I am really happy to have an opportunity to make my personal web site.

There is no doubt that the twenty first century is the time of information, knowledge, and communication. The Internet provides a great variety of opportunities for that. Creation of your own Website is one of them. It cannot be denied, that a creative teacher will do his best to be up-to-date with the process of making teaching more affective and exciting.

 To begin with, a personal teacher's site is the best source of helpful information for pupils, their parents and colleges. Besides, it saves pupils'  time in finding a necessary file or site. What is more, it can be used in distance education of those pupils who are unable to attend school. 

On the other hand, there are some people who agued that spending a lot of time in front of the monitors is very harmful for health. They are very tired of leading a sedentary lifestyle. They believe that teachers should reduce their endless work indoors and spend more time closer to nature, walking, playing active games outdoors or just reading a book in the park.

To sum up, I strongly believe that being engaged in the process of creating of your own Website is an exciting form of pedagogical activity. Of course, it is not only honorable to have it, but it is one of the ways of creating teacher's portfolio.

     We often hear that we live in the era of information. It's quiet right because now we have so many opportunities to learn something new. I couldn't even imagine about such source of information as the Internet when I only began my professional career as a teacher. Now I surf the net every day. I look for some additional material for my lessons, send and get e-mail letters, study, take part in on-line seminars and competitions. While surfing the net I use different websites. Some of them are interesting but others are not so good. Should I have my own website? There are some pros and cons.

  Of course it's good because my site will help me to express my thoughts, to share different materials and information, to make friends all over the world. As a teacher of the English language I'll have an excellent chance to communicate with teachers from other cities and countries, to improve my knowledge of the language and methods of teaching. I'll also get one more chance to communicate with my students.

  On the other hand, having a personal site I'll have to spend much more time in front of a computer. But I am so busy as a teacher.  I shouldn't forget about my family and my sons. They need me too. 

     To sum it up, I think it's worth trying to have a personal site. I hope my family will help me in this work.

Сегодня для своего сайта я выбрала название - Enjoy English Lessons.

Данный сайт я решила посвятить урокам по УМК М.З.Биболетовой. То есть для каждого класса по отдельности будут свои страницы, которые будут постепенно заполняться материалами для учителей и учеников для проведения каждого урока. Где-то свои разработки, где-то с сайтов. Пока будут следующие страницы:

Вот такую задумку хотелось бы воплотить в жизнь.

Считаю, что он будеи полезен и учителям, и учащимся и также их родителям.

Having a website nowadays is no longer a whim, it is a necessity. What are the real advantages and disadvantages of having personal websites? Let`s make it clear.

There are many reasons why people create their own personal websites. Making a website for yourself has numerous advantages.

One of the advantages of having your own website is that you can share your knowledge, experience and enthusiasm with people who have common interests. Website makes it simple and easy to gather information.

As an advantage, your own website offers the chance of representing your portfolio to everyone interested almost at the click of the mouse.

Another advantage of personal websites is the ability to keep useful information or documents in order.

On the other hand, it takes you a lot of time to maintain your site. And then you should keep in mind that a website does need some time to keep it nice and up to date. You have to pay if you don`t want have banners and pop ads on your homepage and all of your pages.

The advantages and disadvantages of having your website are numerous, but ultimately it is up to you to decide whether or not having it. Personal websites are excellent tools to use – if used correctly. Since a bad website works just as much as a good website does, only in a negative way!

We live in the computer age. Almost everyone today is connected to a large network of computers called the Internet. Many people want a piece of the Internet to call their own. Having a website of your own is no longer a whim but rather a necessity. 

There are many reasons why people create their own personal websites. Personal sites are excellent tools to use. Thanks to them people can represent their personal profile. Also having a web site is a great way to share and exchange knowledge with others and to keep a collection of things that inspire you. It is really helpful for teachers as it enables them to be in touch with their students and colleagues at any time.

Still there are some drawbacks. First of all having a website takes a lot of time as the information you post should be updated and reliable. Another problem is date theft. You can never be sure that your “property” is not illegally taken by someone else.

To sum up, I should say that a personal website is now an efficient way to motivate and inspire both students and teachers to work hard and do their best in self-development. Website possibilities are endless. Why not own one?

              Would you like to be forward-thinking? As for me, I would. What does it mean “to be forward-thinking” nowadays? I think, first of all it means you are a computer expert and are able to use all possibilities of the computer. The Internet is a depository of learning. It is a boundless ocean of information. Why not to be a skilful swimmer in this ocean? Why not to have an islet named my personal site in the global World Wide Web ocean? But what for?

             A website can introduce me to the secrets of www. In what way? Firstly, my site lets me be in touch with people at a distance. It helps meet people of different religion, nationality and age. Thanks to the almost unlimited online communication possibilities I can conduct one-to-one conversations with colleagues who teach English all over the world, my pupils, their parents directly from the website. The website improves my teaching activity. It can be our global "tribune" where people who have common interests are able to share our knowledge, experience and enthusiasm because we are members of the biggest community in the world. To my mind, website is a must-have personal attribute nowadays.

             But on the other hand, I should think twice before creating my site because it is always great responsibility to communicate with people showing off yourself: your likes and dislikes, your attitude towards various problems. Secondly, one must not forget to be tolerant to other people’s opinions. Thirdly, having a personal site takes a lot of time, energy and health.

            So, I think, arguments are in favour of having a personal site. That’s why I would like to be forward-thinking joining this trend now. More than that, it isn’t a sudden whim, but my deliberate decision.

Having a personal site gives quite a lot of advantages for teachers.

First, a personal site can be a tool which helps teachers and students work together more effectively. As an example, I can give the following situation. Any extra material that you give to your students as a hometask is to be printed out from your computer and copied. Copying takes much more time than just uploading the necessary information and publishing it on a site. So the high-priority problem of saving time which teachers constantly lack of is solved, never mind saving money on supplies.

Teachers and students work effectively when they exchange the necessary information quickly. Teachers can publish up-to-date news about classes, timetables, surgery classes, academic progress or backlog, etc. As for students, they have an opportunity to request any necessary information.

Second, present-day students learn more effectively using IT-technologies, and a personal site can be a e-learning centre providing students with links to interactive exercises, teaching videos, web-quests, presentations, etc.

Third, having a personal site describes you as an IT-competent teacher which is an extra credit in the process of teacher evaluation.

And finally, some words against having a personal site. It takes time, but it's worth it!

Зарегистрировалась на сайте, выбрала себе образец. Попробовала кое-что в нем поменять. Посмотрела поле ( т.е фон) - слишком белое.


Просмотрела несколько шаблонов, выбрала один, правда он не совсем то, что надо.

Nowadays nobody represents his/her life without the Internet. It is a fast and a convenient way to receive any sort of information.

I consider, it is necessary not only to communicate with the outer world, but also to represent it yourself by means of own site. On the one hand, I agree, that the site helps to envelope more extensive target audience. Moreover, you can promote yourself. Besides the site works round- the- clock, so it is accessible at any time.

But on the other hand, creation of a site consists of several difficult stages. Firstly, you should realize that the first impression of your site depends on its design. Secondly, visitors should receive a maximum of helpful information. Thirdly, you need unique and useful maintenance. Besides, the information has to be collected together and to be made to work. At last, it is important that a site loads quickly, works without failures. That’s why, you need at least four experts to make your site interesting and useful. However, it’s not enough, because it is necessary to know how to optimize the site. Only then it will have been claimed.

 So, you should devote your site a lot of time and learn much to create a good and useful site .

Essay "Personal site: for and against"

Nowadays, the number of websites is extremelly increasing. Some people believe that site is necessary for  job. Others  say it can not be rely on all the information. In my essay I am going to analyze these two points and decide which the solution is.

To start with, personal site is  the brilliant source of getting loads of information for school work. That is lessons plans, games and competitions.  It is all  we and our students need for lessons. Besides  site helps to keep ant present teachers'  learning aids, collection of works and portfolio.Moreover, it is the best way now to publish your own materials without waste of time. Then you can get the serticate of it.

There are people who oppose personal sites. This is due to the fact that some works can not be reliable in the sites. People are not sure who they have been wtitten by or where they are borrowing.

All in all, I still feel that the benefits of having personal web site   outweigh the disadvantages. I believe it is great when you can share your ideas of teaching, lesson materials with  colleagues keeping the copyright.
