Our duty

I’ve never heard the sounds of war,

I’ve never seen  explosions.

And all  I can is to stand in awe

Reflecting on  deeds of soldiers.

And is that all? No, I can help a lot

Recalling to my pupils

Grandfather’s deaths were not in vain,

They fought for our future.

We should be grateful to them forever

Extol the glory of their lives.

And each of us ought to take care of

Every veteran left alive.

Authorities can help with housing

And we with kind and pleasant words.

They need them every day and hour,

Let’s fill their lives with happy thoughts.

Do never start any kind of war

In no state or kingdom.

Say farewell to all of arms,

Let’s live in peace and freedom.
