To my son.
It`s always hard to speak about war…
Because it hurts and even more
It makes us stop and think and cry
Come here, son, I`ll tell you why.

I know you`ve read in History book
About the wars and how they look,
About great heros who gave their lives
For their families to survive.

Among defenders there were too
Some boys and girls young just like you.
They left their homes to save Motherland
And fought with fathers hand in hand.

Not all of them came home back
Their names forgotten and it`s sad.
Those five hard years gone far away
We must remember them today.

They were so honest,strong and brave
We thank them for the 9th of May,
For our living under blue skies
In world that full of happy smiles.

You are a defender now too.
Young heros are examples for you.
I`ll wait for you and I`ll pray
But keep in memory that Victory Day.

Be always generous and soldierlike,
Remember the past in every strike.
You are responsible. It`s true
That peaceful world depends on you.
