My dear mother
Who sat at night when I was ill
And didn’t sleep at all?
Who told so many fairy-tales
And dressed with me my dolls?
Who showed me the way to school
And taught me how to learn?
Who ran to help me when I fell
And calmed me in my pain?
Whom always can I share my troubles?
Be sure she will help!
Who always wishes only happiness,
Good luck, long life and health?
Who’s always glad to do her best
To make us only smile?
Who never wants to see us crying
For our troubles and failure?
Who has great love to any child?
Who is so nice and wise?
Another so kind you’ll never find
In all the world, no doubt!
I want to ask you, dear friends,
Be tender with your Mum!
And try to do her only good,
Be thankful all your life!
Do not forget to help your Mum
And never make her cry!
She’s worth your love, she’s worth your time,
She’s worth respect and joy!
