My dear Mummy, how are you today?
So far away, but seems to me that near…
I can’t imagine how to find a way
To tell you everything I think of you, my dear.

Do you remember me, a tiny girl
Self-confident and bold among my peers,
Me, being wrathful with the whole world!
How could you make my anger disappear?

Do you remember hospital, and me
Afraid and broken , my eyes were full of tears?
You brought me hope of lucky destiny
And little icon to remove my fears.

I know your feelings, yes, I’ve learnt them now,
You, so kind and patient and benign -
I know you were ready for a vow
To give your life to God instead of mine…
