WE HAVEN’T SEEN THAT BLOODY WAR.

We haven’t seen that bloody war,

We didn’t kill and didn’t die.

We haven’t got a soulful sore

Which forces veterans to cry.

We’re satisfied, we didn’t starve,

We don’t know real price of bread.

Today we live, rejoice and love

And have the future life ahead.

We haven’t seen that cruel fight

And our background is very brief.

We haven’t got the legal right

To talk about that real grief.

We only can be grateful for

Their courage and their inner pluck.

For Victory in dreadful war,

For light instead of mortal dark.
