A Great Day

On the 9-th of May

We celebrate a great day.

Many-many years ago

Ended the Great War.

 

The houses were in ruins.

Fields were burnt to ashes.

The land was moaning

People were dying.

 

The war united all the nations

The Byelorussians, the Chuvash, the Russians,

The Kazakhs and other nations.

They fought bravely against fascists.

 

Many soldiers were killed

In furious attacks and fights

In those horrible four years

For Motherland and freedom.

 

But they weren’t killed in vain.

They believed they would win.

If united all strength and might

Fascism would be defeated.

 

The Soviet Army and home front

Made a strong defensive wall.

They stopped the evil enemy

And chased it back to Germany.

 

Let’s remember soldiers

Known and unknown

And put beautiful flowers

In the park to the monument.
