The 9th of May

When our grandparents were young,
When our country was very stung,
In these tough times for us,
In those days there happened a mess.

Then the usual life was upset –
Homeland was under a great threat.
It was the most exhausting war,
That was a very difficult pore.

But our grandparents held off the enemy’s shock
And took the common enemy into the lock.
Again the sky got clear as before
It was the end of the war.

We must remember those days
Because, when the memory leaves,
Events again catch us in a daze,
Again and again the Earth grieves…
