Victory Day
Victory Day on the 9th of May.
It is a national holiday.
We honor veterans on our own way,
We remember those who past away.
It’s a day of memory, a day of mourning,
It is time to lay flowers to the memorial.
As soon as I get up in this morning
I see on the wall my grandfather’s photo.
He was a soldier, he was a hero,
He fought bravely against fascism.
He saved my future, he saved the world.
He tried to put an end to Nazism.
I thank you for everything in my life:
For a lovely day, for the sun in the sky.
We thank all soldiers, both dead and alive,
On behalf of every Russian child.
We remember you, we are proud of you,
We promise to keep this peace, it is true.
