I'm teacher of English and Spanish and I'd like to ask for advice. The thing is that while teaching we learn our students to use web sites and English blogs, but some of them start just surfing the Net and forget the purpose of switching the computer on. How can I limit them in the Net and make them only study?

I'm sure you are aware of this dramatic divide. You are separated by a common language from your cousins across the pond. How alien would you be in New York?

Here in Russia, we read textbook and exam materials from all over the world. But compilers don't warn the text from a certain country. Folks are learning a motley collection of words and phrases from different dialects. Some high school graduates complain they were taught a mixture of British and American accents. I believe EFL textbooks should be written in one certain dialect. Can you please comment on the matter?

Russian students in their schools have English three times a week but Russian they have one or two times a week. A lot of Russian teachers don't agree with this situation. And you? What do you think about compulsory English exam for Russian students at school? Thanks for your answer.
